Re: HOW TO: Rip Blu Rays to 720p DivX's or H.264's
Hey adailey87, I have come across your problem before. It seems to be something to do with the source file and the way the audio is stored. The only work around I have found is to set MediaCoder to 'no audio'. Once the video has been processed use a program to extract the audio from the source and t...

Re: HOW TO: Rip Blu Rays to 720p DivX's or H.264's
Hey Freezest, Interesting problem. I did come across something similar a little while back. I couldn't XviD a movie. I could play the movie but not transcode it. I have been to busy to play with it further and subsequent transcodes on other movies worked fine. I was going to try re-ripping from Blu ...

Unfortunately players such as VLC Player and Media Player Classic aren't really optimised to play Blu Ray movies yet, especially AVC format video. I have found on occasions that both players skip when trying to play AVC video's on my Q6600 quad core. The funny thing here is that when I drop those sa...

What about 1080p?
Hey Luvpeaceguru, Thanks for reading my post. I had a thought while writing your reply. If 720p is 1280 * 720 = 921600, and 1080p is 1920 * 1080 = 2073600, then 2073600 divided by 921600 = 2.25. Therefore 1080p is 2.25 times larger than 720p. So if we carried this over to optimal output sizes, a mov...

Hey B!ink thanks for the appreciation and defence :) I have an IT background and can usually nut most things out. 720p MKV to 720p XviD using 'Target File Size'.
What I’m trying to do: I want to convert 1.1GB & 4.4GB 720p x264 AC3 5.1 MKV movies to 1.1GB & 4.4GB 720p AC3 5.1 XviD movies. I wish to keep them the same size as they’re multiples of a blank DVD, ie 4.4GB. My reasoning for this is as most people would have noticed, x264 movies require quite a bit...
