Easily change framerate of audio

Too often the only available copies of native 24fps films and tv shows will be in 25fps format, and the audio on these typically have an altered (higher) pitch, so that everyone sounds like chipmunks. When changing these files back to their original 24fps framerate, the video doesn't need re-encodin...

Re: x264 settings for bframes and aq-mode are being ignored

That did it! I'd been using the Medium preset for years now I think, along with tweaking a few other settings to suit. But the new method doesn't send most of those settings to x264 unless you set the preset to Custom. It was a mystery to me, but I get it now, thanks!

Re: Audio Stream Index setting is not being reset

What you're saying makes sense for that situation, but the problem is, even after all files have been encoded, the audio track selection is invisibly still set. This invalid track setting persists even after closing MC and reopening it again later. The audio track selection list shows that "ID: 0" i...

Human Readable xml files

Regarding the prefs.xml and queue.xml files: It would be very handy if these files used some newlines so that they were human readable. For example, instead of storing them as a single line of text like they are now: <MediaCoderPrefs><node key="overall.generic.priority">Idle</node><node key="overall...

x264 settings for bframes and aq-mode are being ignored

I tested this on 5600 and 5608, and both have the same behavior. I am unable to set the x264 bframe value via the typical methods. For example, on the gui's x264 tab, the B-Frames option is grayed out (along with ME, Ref, and SubME). Also the bframe value in the main Settings gui is set, but this va...

Audio Stream Index setting is not being reset

I tested this on 5600 and 5608, and both have the same behavior. The problem happens after encoding a file that has more than one audio track, and you select a track greater than "ID: 0" to encode. If you then encode a different file that has only one audio track, and using the Copy Audio option, th...

How-To: Image Sequence to Video?

Is there a how-to for encoding image sequences? I've searched extensively, and tried multiple methods in MC, but instead of encoding all my images into a single video, its either processing only the first image, or its creating a separate video for each image, depending on what I try. I'm using buil...

Re: DVD Conversions: de-interlace & Pullup

In my experience most films on PAL or NTSC discs are flagged as interlaced, but are actually progressive content, with no interlacing hard-coded into the source. For PAL this makes sense, since most films on DVD are sped up from 24 to 25fps, and you don't need to hard-interlace when you use that met...
