Best codecs for hardcoding subtitles from MKV to MP4

This is a guide for users which actually want to hardcode SubStation Alpha subtitles to their MP4 file. I did a clean Windows 8 Installation and tested a few Codec-Packs because MediaCoder didn't use the font format in the SubStation Alpha file. 1. Delete Haali Media Splitter from your System to avo...

Getting rid of Haali Media Splitter and Grey-Screens?

Just for the future if anybody struggles on this one. Wanted to put Subs onto my MKV file via VodSub Render. I accidentally installed the K-Lite Codec Pack where this B(a)stard Splitter called Haali Media was included. Everytime I imported a MKV file into MediaCoder (<-- BEST SOFTWARE EVER) this Son...

Re: Batch transcoding with different output settings for eac

It's been quite a while but the mediacoder does not support different output settings for each file, right? The settings are still global, right? That's kinda disappointing because I mostly render files over night. Will there ever be such a batch transcoding with different target settings? It's been...

Re: Burn in subtitles wired fix issue (zlib Muxing mode)

Thanks for your answer but I think you're wrong. I tried it with an english subbed movie, too. Without umlauts or special characters... Exact the same behavior like before. I guess the character encoding isn't the reason for this misbehavior! I'm using VideoConverterUltimate now and it works perfect...

Re: Burn in subtitles wired fix issue (zlib Muxing mode)

Okay, so I used the settings you prefered but still no subtitles. This problem is really difficult to solve... :( I also extracted the A.S.S file from the MKV and "muxed out" these subs via mkvmerge. Afterwards I imported the MKV file without subs in MediaCoder played preview (as expected, no subs s...

Re: Burn in subtitles wired fix issue (zlib Muxing mode)

The output file is still without subtitles when you use A S S files.
So the missing tag on the header does not cause the problem.

Tried 3 hours to get the subtitles shown but couldn't find any solution.

Subtitles shown in preview but not in rendered file

So, I have a MKV file with german subtitles. Extracted the subtitles (Track 3) with MKVExtractGUI2 to a separate A.S.S file. pic.jpg Here you can see the default subtitles in the preview window. But in the rendered MP4 file the subs are missing. Is this a bug? I chose different modes but still the s...
