AVI frame timecodes wrong

I converted a .mov to h.264, in an avi container. However, after much time investigating timing problems, I found that it was the file itself that had wrong timing for the frames at the start of the video (I used MPC-HC to view the milliseconds of each frame). Is there a setting I have to set to enf...

Extract raw h.264 from avi = error 14?

Why is it complaining about not finding the video encoder when I select to copy the video and raw stream as container? What I actually wanted to do is simply change the frame rate from 28.571 to 30 fps, without re-encoding, but I didn't find any way to do that in MediaCoder. MP4Box can, but it didn'...

Re: Recording audio

I haven't been able to figure out how to do audio directshow capture. I keep getting errors (mostly 15, sometimes 11). I tried recording to nero aac, mp3, to mp4 container or raw stream, with and without selecting a video capture device at the same time. It seems to complain a lot about muxing when ...

Re: Recording audio

Thanks Stanley,

I'm very interested in this option since I found my previous solution with Avisynth had issues (which I can probably work around) but also poor audio quality. It's not clear to me if it's possible to mux live audio capture into a video yet though. I'll try probably later today.

Re: Basic muxing of mp4 and m4a

Hmm, that's too bad. Seems like a serious issue...

But since I've been able to get my live capture working (see my other post), it won't affect me too much anymore. I only have 1 recording of separate video and audio that I need to mux.

Re: Recording audio

I still haven't figured out what that DShow source option means or how it works (anyone?), but I was able to get my audio in through an avisynth script, like in the example of audio-video using Graph Edit in the Avisynth documentation. And MediaCoder is able to open and encode this live AV stream wi...

Re: Basic muxing of mp4 and m4a

Thanks for the replies guys, Stanley, I thought I gave the formats, unless you're asking something different? To clarify, yes only video from the main input file which is an mp4 with x264 encoded video and has no audio. The external audio file I'm copying as I said is NERO-AAC encoded audio stream i...

Recording audio

Hi, I just found out that MC can open an Avisynth script that uses directshowsource of a graph edit file, and thus I can directly encode live video from my DV cam. It would be awesome if I could do the same with audio, i.e. encode to AAC from my mic, and mux it all live into an mp4 file. I haven't b...

Basic muxing of mp4 and m4a

Hi, I thought this would be straightforward, but it's not working so far. I want to copy video and audio (no recompression at all) and just mux the x264 encoded video stream from an mp4 file, and add the audio from a NERO-AAC encoded audio stream in an m4a file. FFmpeg gives error 15, MP4box says su...
