sub-forums (bugs, feature requests) have disappeared?
sub-forums (bugs, feature requests) have disappeared - maybe an accident? There was good information in there...

Re: File successfully transcoded, not output file
perhaps try the "previous" version that's also on the download page?
I'm still using <MediaCoder-x64-0.8.49.5890.exe> myself (I tend to update only when the new changes are relevant to me)
during recoding, on my system, the individual tracks (video, audio) are created in the %TEMP% folder.

Re: 32-bit is significantly faster than 64-bit
i was wondering if I would find in the forum a reason why the default decoder was switched from mencoder to ffmpeg. (in the build of July 2016) this is the most recent discussion were there is a hint of mencoder vs ffmpeg, merely through the question of Stanley. Does it have something to do with the...

Re: settings for MP4
your question is too vague to answer. I usually transcode a 720p with the X264 crf22 settings. It comes out with a very reasonable size / quality ratio If you want to reduce filesize further, you could - transcode audio (AAC 80 or 64 kbps is fine for a lot of content) - downscale video (keep the asp...

MediaCoder-x64-update-5783.exe is not installing x264
According to changelog MediaCoder-x64 5783, it comes with a newer x264 build. I already had a full installation of 5782 on my system, so I chose to download and install the updater edition. But the updater does not update x264. I stayed at version x264 0.148.2597 I've now installed the full installe...

Re: CPU Optimization Pack
I suspect it's obsolete. (right now, I can't even find the download, but I only looked for a minute)

Re: transcoding queue while unattended bugged badly in lates
You sure you have this with x265 AND x264 ?
I've transcoded a bunch of files (source & target) x264 to lower CRF lately on the build 0.8.33.5680 and have not noticed a diff between interactive use or unattended use.

Re: x265 transcoding bugs when running unattended
to maintain overview, it might be best to merge this thread and the bug thread, viewtopic.php?f=28&t=13324 or to close one of the two?

Re: transcoding queue while unattended bugged badly in lates
> I'm going tpo try installing an earlier version Did that work? The developer would probably love to have all possible feedback. Also, a newer version was released few days ago. It contains only few changes, but essentially a newer version of x265. Given that Stanley (the dev) doesn't develop x265 ...

Re: x265 transcoding bugs when running unattended
as a computer engineer, I found this an fascinating subject, though I know nothing of it, and haven't used x265 myself. Happy user (donated :) ) of the x264 recodes peculiarly, when googling "x265 vs x264 cpu utilization", some of the top links (albeit 1,5 years old now, and potentially totally obso...
