Version 5198 still has the problem, very anoying.
By the way I use Linux with wine and have Firefox installed.

I have the same problem with version 5166 and newest 5175.
I am using Linux Ubuntu with wine and every window I open, like setting, shows just loading... but nothing happens.
The same happens when I want to open the codecs setting window.

I am working with Windows XP so should be run as administrator, I did not find the run as administrator button on the Context menu.

I am an Administrator and I use the NVIDIA mobile drivers version 6.14.12.5896 dated 9th of July 2010.
Before I had an old driver then MediaCoder told me CUDA is not supported and I updated the driver yesterday by downloading it from the NVIDIA page.

Sorry to hear that it is necessary to patch the x264.exe, what if mediacoder is no more updated, so you cannot update the x264 codec, but that may actual realy not be a necessary problem.
