Re: iPod won't show encoded video
If you're using x264 as the encoder, make sure your profile is set to "baseline" and level is set no higher than 1.3 You can use the "full" edition, and do not use the iPod presets. Use "H264" as the format and "ffmpeg" as the encoder, as the x264 encoder has an audio/video sync issue at present. Yo...

Re: FAAC panel wont open in (4640 to) 4742
To expand on this, I've found that it appears to be dependent upon which encoder is selected in the video tab: - If x264, CUDA. JM, XviD, Theora, WM, Dirac, or AMV are selected, the FAAC panel will be visible. - If MEncoder is chosen, you can get the panel to open for a fraction of a second. - If FF...

Re: Where did you hear about MediaCoder ?
Was a devotee of SUPER, until it gave my laptop a virus updating to a newer edition. Thinking it was a one-off issue, I continued to use it, but ran into problems with another upgrade, then it wouldn't let me go back to a previous version. Meh... (Found out later that SUPER's and K-Lite's codecs don...

I used to use Super before discovering MediaCoder.
(I assume you use 'ME' to mean MediaCoder?)

Re: Cannot encode .mp3 to lower than 32Kbps in 0.7.5.4742
As to the MPEG4, I see no problem in 4740. I tried: Video tab: Format/Source/Encoder = MPEG4/MEncoder/FFmpeg Audio tab: Encoder/Format/Source = either FAAC/LC-AAC/Auto or FFmpeg/MP3/Auto at 112 kbps and 48 kHz Container = MP4 with Muxer on Auto Picture resize = 480x480. I can see video in VLC. Just...

Re: Cannot encode .mp3 to lower than 32Kbps in 0.7.5.4742
Build 0.7.5.4740 Hi, I have tried encoding to mp3 as low as 8 kbps and 16 kbps and it works without any problem. Just make sure that you set the audio source to ffmpeg and Change the resample to anything below 32000hz click on job-->transcode audio only that's it Post back what you got.... Here is ...

Re: Cannot encode .mp3 to lower than 32Kbps in 0.7.5.4742
Have spent much of the last 24 hours uploading and installing/uninstalling every version from 0.7.3.4685 through 0.7.5.4742. The two problems (and there's a third one I forgot to mention before), were a/v sync when encoding to .mp4, and the inability to downcode .mp3s below 32Kbps... 1. A/V sync enc...

Re: Resolutions for video conversions
You realize that you can simply enter in the values you want. You may also be able to edit the mccore.xml file and enter in the resolutions you want, although I haven't tried it yet. Actually tried that tonight. It wouldn't let me edit the original file since I didn't have the rights to it, so it g...

Re: Cannot encode .mp3 to lower than 32Kbps in 0.7.5.4742
According to http://forum.mediacoderhq.com/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=9374, the MP3 standard covers the range 32 to 320 kbps! Also, that at low bitrates, LAME is more efficient. The encoders in build 4685 may have had a lucky aberation? I first learned of the possibilities of encoding at <32Kbps when I s...
