Re: Converting FLV or MOV files to WMV error

Thanks rhycos for your help. Linux (or linux-Wine) may be a possibility but this is beyond my understanding, which isn't much. I don't really want another OS anyway. Loading 0.6.1.4026 was easy and it ran. But you informed that 4026 could use wmv as an ouput file and suggested 0.7.0.4399 would work....

Re: Converting FLV or MOV files to WMV error

I have followed your directions via kotuha.com... about 4 or 5 times this evening. I always get the disaterous message when I try to start the program by double clicking "mediacoder.exe" that I have seen so many times I havememorized it: MediaCoder has encountered a problem and needs to close. We ar...

Re: Converting FLV or MOV files to WMV error

Before following your detailed instructions on loading and installing 4399, I would like clarifaction on Presets. Saving as a TXT file then change the extension to XML. Clear enough. The link rhycos furnished for a worable preset for 4399 was: http://forum.mediacoderhq.com/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=5695&...

Re: Converting FLV or MOV files to WMV error

I have tried to follow the suggestion by rhycos » Wed Sep 30, 2009 12:37 am . He said "Wmv encoding works only in this version 0.7.0.4399 available here http://filepig.org/download/mediacoder/" and so going to the filepig site for the file 4399 this link was used: http://filepig.org/download/mediaco...

Re: Converting FLV or MOV files to WMV error

(edited by admin)

0.7.2.4520 was listed as the most recent update, so I assumed it would be good. Should I uninstall it and go backe to the suggested 0.7.0.4399? Might that eliminate the error of not finding FFmpeg?

Re: Converting FLV or MOV files to WMV error

My worry about cellphone txt messages didn't develop. I uninstalled MediaCoder 0.6.1.4026. I then downloaded the latest version, 0.7.2.4520 and installed it. I didn't have to give all my history again. MediaCoder 0.7.2.4520 tried to run but I encountered an error message that FFmpeg could not be fou...

Re: Converting FLV or MOV files to WMV error

Thanks to RHYCOS for suggesting a switch to 0.7.0.4399. But, now a question for mixer. I had a terrible time activating my 0.6.1.4026. MediaCoder wants to acknowledge your "download and log in" by sending you a cellphone txt message telling you that you are activated. I don't have a cellphone that a...

Converting FLV or MOV files to WMV error

(edited by admin) MediaCorder 0.6.1.4026 appears to work and is activated. Mozilla Firefox was also installed. I'm using Windows XP. Now I can view files but I can't convert them. Both flv and mov files cannot be converted to wmv. After a short time I get a message: The encode thread seems to be blo...

Re: What's MSVCR71.dll? (Visual C++ runtime)

Looking at the previous posts and the information that MSVCR71.dll should be in C:\WINDOWS\system32, I found that MSVCR71.dll was already there. In my machine it was in C:\WINDOWS\system32\URTTemp Since it is there why won't MediaCoder install correctly? I still get the error message that it can't f...
