Re: Build 5353: Resize in picture tab not correctly applied

Perhaps not a bug , but a too safely chosen limitation,
considering x264 has supported mod2 resolutions for 7+ years.

Re: How to convert to MP4 with same dimensions

At 1000 Kbps , 1080p won't look good, even if you you encode with x264 using preset placebo. Using preset veryslow instead will be much faster and only decrease quality by 1%-2% Exception being that if the video is animated, then even 500Kbps might not be too bad. If it's a 'normal' movie, you're pr...

Re: FLV TO AVI

Is there a reason why you would want to convert them and degrade their quality (which likely isn't that great to begin with) ? The only reason I can think of is for use on a hardware player that only supports MPEG4 ASP (xvid/divx) inside AVI. Pretty much any software player will play FLV files, and ...

Re: Failed to load Xvid

As I already mentioned,I need to force constant (and relatively low) bitrate to play movies on an old DivX/Xvid/DVD player that has severe bitrate limits. With Average Bitrate there is the possibility that my device starts playing the film, then at a certain point there is e.g.an action scene, with ...

Re: A couple of questions

More b-frames and reference frames never hurts the quality, but any more than 5-6 is usually pointless because the improvements are negligible (less than one percent). [1] If endoding anime (and thus using --tune animation), a few more are useful. With b-adapt 2 , increased b-frames will slow down t...

Re: A couple of questions

First , select Options -> User Interface mode -> Expert mode. 1. It seems that by default I can't change subme slider from x264, then how can I enable it? Need to have 'custom' selected in the x264 preset selector. Even if you select a different subme value in the advanced settings. You can use one ...
